i'm trying to configure nginx to run lua instead of php

i'm confused: do i need to use openresty? or can i just use ngx_lua?

there is wery little documentation on nginx

can someone provide a simple guide on how to set up

i tried

./configure --prefix=/usr/local/nginx --add-module=../ngx_devel_kit/ --add-module=../lua-nginx-module/
make
make install

but i didn't compile it, too many errors

the problem is also i run on shared hosting so i'm not having full access to install what i want
